If you live in Philippi, Buckhannon, or Elkins you're about to have another choice for an Internet provider. The Public Service Commission decided Frontier must lease some of its service to Citynet.
Citynet says the decision and their expansion will help rural customers.
This dispute goes back to August of last year when Citynet filed a complaint about Frontier with the Public Service Commission.
It accused Frontier of trying to keep out competition for speedy internet. The Commission upheld most of an administrative law judge's decision last week which means Frontier has to lease its unused fiber-optic cable to Citynet in Philippi, Buckhannon, and Elkins.
The service will be up within the next three months.
