Bill E. Smith, 77, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Monday, November 23, 2015 at home.
He was born August 17, 1938 at Julian, Boone County, a son of the late Henry and Ethel Long Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Leo Smith, Paul Smith, Ernest Doutain Smith and Thomas Smith.
Bill was a retired insulator. He was a member of the Insulators and Allied Workers Union, Local 67, Plant City, Fla. He was also a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church and the Roane Arts and Humanities Council. Bill enjoyed woodworking, his dogs, his land and hunting. Also, he was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Smith; children and their spouses, Bruce and Kenna Smith of Florida, Peggy and John Saemisch of Georgia, Brian and Glenda Smith of Tennessee, Paul Elliot Smith of California, Kim and Rodney Smith of Michigan, Piper Cozmanoff of West Virginia, Robin and Don Smith of Michigan and Scott Wooten and Wendi Welch of Michigan; 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; siblings, Blanche Hood of Ohio, Henry Lon Smith of Colorado, George Smith, Robert Smith, James Smith, Carol McCormick and Gloria Dotson all of West Virginia.
Bill has been cremated. A memorial service may be held at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Radio Ministry of Memorial UMC or Housecalls Hospice.
