The Creston Area Neighborhood Watch clothing giveaway was a big success with lots of folks stopping by to get new threads, etc. Ellen Hedges noted clothes were piled high on the benches until the early crew came along and carried stuff away.
The area madness known as firearms deer season starts Nov. 23. Folks from Ohio have been keeping the road hot as they come in pulling trailers with side by side four wheelers. There are lots of trophy bucks to be had this year so those who make 'antler stew" should have plenty to work with. Emily Basnett killed her first deer with a crossbow and she is looking forward to bagging some more. Her uncle, the famous Annamoriah Cowpoke, was attending to business in Creston and was visiting area family & friends.
Cap'n Spock was calling on Ellen Hedge while J. P. Marks was calling at the Spock residence [the Creston Space Dock].
Christina & Emma Miller & Charles Russell were all attending to business in Spencer. Charles was also calling on Paris Parsons, Ray Gumm & brother Euell at the Miletree facility.
The Wirt Oil & Gas Group has been circulating suggestions for the big forced pooling bill that the big out of state promoters want. The amendments would hopefully prevent the theft that the slicksters and their enablers in the legislature want to foist on the citizenry of the state.
The state board of education, as guided by the Little Wife, Gayle, and Junior Jackson, showed that they "would respond to public outcries" and did away with Common Core by replacing it with Core Common. Apparently they presume the peasants are too dumb to realize that "our betters" are not to be questioned & are easily fooled. With the state's $250 million shortfall the State Bd. Of Ed. could easily be eliminated along with their corporate buddies such as little Jebbie Bush who, like them, rakes in the cash playing in the education business, not to be confused with teaching the youth.
It was reported that the Wirt road crew has been working on the Woodring Road up the river from Creston.
Noble Energy announced that the firm was going to drill a Marcellus well at Creston and wanted a mineral owner to sign a lease modification for the "huge" sum of $500.00. Noble had acquired the Marcellus rights to the property in a deal with Mother Hope and paid $7,100/acre The modifications quite often lower the royalty to below 12.5% when royalty on Marcellus & deeper wells should be 25%. A Denver based oil & gas company said that they were going to drill Rogersville wells in Gilmer County. Earlier the firm had indicated that they intended to drill Marcellus wells near Glenville.
The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude oil dropped to $39.39/bbl. with condensate (drip) fetching only $20.39, Marcellus & Utica light $33.39 and medium $39.39/bbl. Recently EQT paid oil royalties and based the price on a below market number. These are the same folks that the well greased lobbyists and gullible legislators trip over themselves to "please".
Eulogio Del Pino, the oil minister in Venezuela stated that if OPEC didn't get their act together, the world price of crude would drop into the mid twenties/bbl. While crude has dropped, the price of gasoline has gone up.
The terror attacks and the Big Eared One's comments have been a topic of talk in the area. The idea of bringing in military age "Syrians" who cannot be vetted is a matter of great concern. Some remember the story about a wooden horse that was drug into the ancient city of Troy and we all know how that turned out.
The local area has been enjoying warmer than usual weather, sometimes called Indian summer although perhaps such is no longer P.C. However, colder weather is in the forecast and record snow has already impacted the short grass prairie states. More reports have come out showing that the global warming crew, the folks who want to prohibit the speech of those who disagree, are outright liars and want to control the entire world by their "regulations". Dear Leader and the horsefaced one have said that the so called global warming, Christians & the NRA are the real threats to the world, not Arab Moslem terrorists, Iranian bomb makers, Russian aggressors and the Chinese liberation Army & Navy.
