The Grantsville, Smithville and Gilmer VFDs brought the fire under control by 6 p.m., creating a large fire break.

Reports of the acreage burned burned were from 15 to 50 acres.
The departments then responded to a forest fire on Dusk Camp in Gilmer County.
Laurel Run is just off State Rt. 5 east of Grantsville.
Weathercasters had warned about forest fire risks with a high wind advisory posted for most of the Mountain State for Thursday and Friday.
Friday, firemen from Grantsville, Upper West Fork, Gilmer, Smithville and Harrisville fought the blaze for about six hours.
A spokesperson said when the fire would be brought under control, high winds would whip it across the fire line.
