With WV under a wind advisory, the Division of Forestry is asking residents to refrain from outdoor burning until conditions subside.
Burning after 5 p.m. is legal, but the state forester recommends holding off on any outdoor fires.
Anyone who starts a fire that escapes and causes a wildfire or forest fire is subject to fines ranging from $100 to $1,000, as well as a $200 civil penalty.
Residents can learn more about West Virginia's burning laws on the Division of Forestry's website www.wvforestry.com |
