The Calhoun County Committee On Aging in conjunction with the Salvation Army and The United Methodist Churches of Calhoun County will again present Operation: "Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone"
The Salvation Army annually distributes a magnificent array of food totally free of charge for Thanksgiving to various area agencies, including the Calhoun County Committee on Aging. Again this year, the Committee will provide Thanksgiving meals to anyone in Calhoun County who wishes to join in the celebration of Thanksgiving.
There are no economic or social criteria involved; the only requirement is the desire to dine and share the Thanksgiving spirit with others in our community.
Dinner will be prepared by volunteers at the Calhoun County Committee on Aging's main Center in Grantsville and served on Thanksgiving Day from 11:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. in the Center's Dining Hall.
For those desiring a Thanksgiving meal but unable to come to the Dining Hall, meals will be delivered to homes throughout Calhoun County by volunteers.
To request meal delivery, call the CCCOA at 304-354-7017 any of the three days preceding Thanksgiving, Monday, Nov. 23rd and Tuesday, Nov. 24th between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and until 12-noon on Wednesday, November 25th to facilitate planning and food delivery. Phone orders will not be accepted after 12-noon on Wednesday, Nov. 25th.
Anyone wishing to volunteer to make this Thanksgiving special to all those in our County whom would otherwise be alone or without a special meal (and to therefore make your own Thanksgiving particularly special by giving your time and talent) is gratefully invited to assist. Please call 304-354-7017 or email office@cccoa-wv.org to volunteer and receive details.
