POLICE SHOOTING - A Morgantown man was shot and killed by police Thursday afternoon after trying to resist arrest while armed.
According to the Morgantown Police Department, the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office was attempting to serve an arrest warrant for first degree robbery when occupants at the location answered the door and tried to keep deputies out.
Deputies said they confronted a man who was armed with a shotgun and was subsequently shot. The man was found to have a handgun on his person, as well.
The individual was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The Morgantown Police Department will investigate the incident and will be assisted by the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office.
The man's name has not been released.
CHARLESTON HOLD-UP - Charleston Police are investigating a robbery at a CVS drug store.
It happened just before 8 p.m.Thursday at the Plaza East location which is near Appalachian Power Park.
According to dispatchers the suspect had a gun. Charleston Police say no injuries have been reported.
