The Creston Veteran's Day celebration will be Sunday, November 8 at 2 P. M. at the Creston Community Building. Jack Boley, husband of Sen. Donna Boley will talk about his experience when he was in the U. S. Army and the government was testing the effect of nuclear explosions on soldiers.

The government mandated fast time has finally come to an end and now residents can readjust their biological clocks to standard time.

Joye E. Tucker, age 97, passed away in Barberton Ohio on October 28. The daughter of Willis & Elizabeth Walker of Little Spring Creek in Roane County she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Kermit Tucker. For many years Kermit worked on the WEVA lease. Burial was in Barberton.

Steve Meadows, age 61, passed away. He was a son of Cora Mowrey Boggs and the late Dwight Meadows, Jr.

A local woman was called at her work to be informed that she had won $1.3 million from Publisher's Clearing House and that they would have the check at her house by 3:30 P. M. The caller then noted that taxes would have to be resolved and that they needed her back account information. She then told them that she had no money and the taxes should be taken out of the $1.3 million. At that point the caller hung up. Later it was determined that the call may have come from Jamaica.

Rick Williams brought the message at the Burning Springs M. E. Church.

Charles Russell was calling on Paris Parsons, Ray Gumm & brother Euell at the Miletree Center is Spencer.

The deer and the bushy tails have been staking out territories in the roadways. One sees lots of does & fawns but few bucks.

The United States Senate is scheduled to vote on S-1140 which would put a stop to the EPA's WOTUS (Waters of the United States) takeover of almost all land in the nation.. Considering the batting average of the Republican eunuchs who voted to give Iran the bomb, voted to raise the debt ceiling and couldn't stop the butchering and sale of baby parts by Planned Parenthood, a private company funded by the U. S. Government, one may not hold out too much hope. Apparently they are afraid of "offending" the Big Eared One. Recently it was learned that in 2012 the Big Eared One made it clear that if Israel tried to destroy Iran's nuclear bomb making facilities he would have U. S. planes shoot the Jewish planes out of the sky.

Exxon the Rockefeller flagship company that has many leases in West Virginia had been giving $1 million annually to the Clinton Family Crime Foundation but this year they decided to stop the payments so Her Thighness said that the firm "needed to be investigated". Nothing like being brazen about paying to play or an exercise in how crony capitalism works in dealing with despots No wonder Broadway Joe and Jim Justice are solidly on her team. In the recent hearing It was learned that she told the daughter that it was a terrorist attack in Libya but she told the nation that it was a "video" that no one ever saw and her media enablers said she had a great week. Getting caught telling a big lie is apparently "no big deal" if one is connected and own the media.

The Wirt Oil & Gas Group will meet Saturday November 14th at the high school in Elizabeth for an update.

The Big Eared One said he was going to send 50 soldiers to Syria which is a smaller number of men than he sent to Ferguson Missouri when the riot was in progress. One might hope that they could act as did Gideon did with the Midianites but most have their doubts as our current rulers seem to abhor "The Book" and what it teaches.

The snake oil salesmen are still promoting the big boys' forced pooling bill as the greatest thing since sliced bread, etc. Back something over a century ago the agents of Mr. Rockefeller came around and said, "Sign this lease & if we get a gas well, you'll get $300/year. You know, that is a lot of money." Some asked, "Shouldn't the payment be based on the amount of production?" The answer was, "Oh, you know, you can't measure a gas!" even though, back then the companies were selling gas by volume. Now the slickers say, "Oh the bill will guarantee you a 1/8th but, you see we can't put anything in the bill that would require that the landowners [and the state tax department] would receive accurate measurements or know the actual prices that the natural gas, crude oil and the components were actually sold for". Those who had science in school learned about the gas laws and there are several who know all about gas measurement including gas chromatography which is used to determine the amounts of ethane, propane, n-butane, iso-butane, the pentanes, etc. in the gas stream. Royalties for formations of lesser value elsewhere in the nation receive a 25% royalty or sometimes more but we are not supposed to know about that.

The promoters of the forced pooling law said, "In our wonderful bill we allow mineral interests of lost folks to be reconveyed to the surface owner; you should be for it." The slicksters fail to note that W. Va. Code 55-12A-7, already allows for such when mineral owners cannot be found and the circuit court must execute a lease under 55-12A-1, also existing law. That section of the code has been used for almost 30 years when a company needs a lease on a portion of a tract that the owners cannot be found.

The price of gasoline has dropped to below $1.80 in Jackson County while it is 20 to 50 cents/gallon higher elsewhere. The price of local Pennsylvania grade crude rose to $45.06/bbl. with condensate fetching $26.06, Marcellus & Utica light $39.06 and medium $45.06/bbl. Gas sold from the Owl Hill neighborhood in September fetched just 76 cents/dekatherm. Check that against what one pays n nearby communities for natural gas.
