Betty Rivard, of Elmira, Braxton County, was selected a West Virginia Wonder Woman in 2016. She now lives in Charleston.
Photographer and writer Rivard, among her accomplishments, was editing the photographs from the Farm Security Administration Project, a project that captured powerful images of life in rural and small town America during the Great Depression.
Rivard's collection has been published in "New Deal Photographs of West Virginia, 1934-1943,"
