Charleston Police have released the name of a man who was shot and killed outside a home on Charleston's West Side about 1 a.m. Friday.
Police say Dominic Clark, 24, of Charleston, was shot and killed.
He was shot several times in the back and chest.
A suspect has not been named in the case, but investigators say the person who pulled the trigger seemed to know what they were doing.
"Anyone capable of a heinous crime like this is obviously dangerous and as leads develop we hope to solve this crime and get this person into custody. And yes, obviously this would be a very dangerous person. The shooting was very brutal and clearly the intent was to kill this person," Lt. Steve Cooper said.
Police say they will be reviewing surveillance video and will continue talking with neighbors to get more information.
Investigators said they are trying to determine if this shooting is connected to another that happened at the same location last week. In that case, a man was shot in the arm and received non-life threatening injuries.
