| An Ellenboro, Ritchie County woman was sentenced to five years probation and eight months home confinement for health care fraud in federal court Thursday.
Sherri Slaven, 51, was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $133,968.83 for a scheme to defraud the West Virginia Offices of the Insurance Commission Workers' Compensation Old Fund by repeatedly submitting claims for various healthcare services that she never performed.
Slaven received fraudulent compensation in excess of $100,000 for services that were not provided. |
