| Firemen responded to a fire at the top of Millstone Hill (Rt. 16) about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday to reports of smoke coming through vent holes in the ground.
Reports indicated that a land fill of dirt and debris compacted for several years by the highway department had apparently combusted underground.
Firemen indicated they were pumping water down the holes. |
