| Gertrude F. Thomas, 82, of Gandeeville, West Virginia, died Saturday, November 30, 2002, at
home.
She was born December 17, 1919, in Roane County, a daughter of the late Dan and Annie
Hardman Rhodes. She was a homemaker, member of Harmony Baptist Church, and life long
resident of Roane County.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Ann Ray of Gandeeville and Cathleen Price of Gay, WV;
four sons, Charles, gary and Darrell Thomas all of Gandeevile, and John Thomas of Gallipolis,
Ohio; one sister, Ruth Stahlman of Spencer, WV; eight grandchildren and nineteen great
grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennie Thomas; one
son, William Thomas; one grandson, Ricky Price; one brother, James Rhodes; three infant
brothers and three infant sisters.
A funeral service will be conducted Monday, December 2 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor
Funeral Home, Spencer, with Reverend Billy F. Casto officiating. Burial will be in the
Rhodes Cemetery, Harmony, WV.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
