MAN HAS GUN ON MARSHALL CAMPUS - A Huntington man is facing charges after leading police on a foot chase on Marshall University's campus.

According to the criminal complaint, police received a call Monday afternoon about a man who had a gun in his jacket pocket.

Police say when they came in contact with the man, he took off running onto campus and up the steps by Smith Hall.

Police at that point said he threw a 9mm semi automatic pistol on the roof of Smith Hall and continued running, then officers took him into custody.

Guns are still not allowed on school campuses, although gun rights groups have been pushing for that option, saying it would increase safety.

Police charged Brian Marquell Jolly-Nelms, 19, of Huntington, with having a firearm on an educational facility, misdemeanor fleeing, and misdemeanor having a concealed dangerous weapon.

The gun was retrieved and taken into evidence.

WOMAN STABS EX-HUSBAND - Kanawha County deputies have charged a woman after she allegedly stabbed her ex-husband during an argument. Dusty Jo Skeens, 33, of Cross Lanes is charged with malicious wounding after an incident that occurred about 6 a.m. Wednesday in the Little Tyler area of Cross Lanes, according to a criminal complaint.

Skeens is accused of stabbing her ex-husband, Steven Skeens, in the upper right arm. She told deputies the two had been arguing after he allegedly had destroyed her personal identification and had her Supplemental Security Income card.

She said she became so angry that she grabbed a knife from the kitchen sink and stabbed her ex-husband, the complaint said.

Steven Skeens went to another residence and called 911.

BUILDING HIT BY GUNFIRE - A building in Elkins was struck by gunfire after shots were reportedly fired in the early morning hours. The shots were reported around South Davis Avenue just before 3 a.m. Police found shell casings and a bullet in a parking lot and a nearby business has been damaged by what appears to be bullet strikes.

STORE HEIST - Authorities are searching for a suspect who they say robbed a Blacksville convenience store at gunpoint early Tuesday morning.

According to a press release from the Monongalia County Sheriff's office, it happened at the 7 Eleven in Blacksville around 3:20 a.m.

A man allegedly walked into the store, pulled out a handgun and demanded money from the clerk. He ran away from the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.

HUNTINGTON SHOOTING - One man is in the hospital after allegedly being shot at the Washington Arms Apartments in Huntington.

West Virginia State Police say they were responding to multiple reports of shots fired just before 11 p.m.

When Troopers arrived, they didn't find anyone at the scene.

However, about an hour later 38-year-old Christopher Fraley, from Greenup, Kentucky, arrived at King's Daughters Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

Fraley told police there that he had been shot in Huntington.

Troopers say Fraley was shot once and his injuries are non-life-threatening. Fraley told police he was being robbed and was shot as he ran away.
