Vonda Holpp Gunn, 82, of Mt. Zion, West Virginia, died Thursday, November 28, 2002 at Camden- Clark Memorial
Hospital, Parkersburg after a struggle with cancer.
She was the daughter of the late Frank and Etta Haught
Holpp, born at Yellow Creek.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; son, Donald Poe Gunn; sister Fern Weaver
and brother Lewis Holpp of Parkersburg, and her much loved granddaughter, Dayna Lynn.
Vonda was a former Calhoun school teacher and retired employee of the Calhoun
Board of Education. She was the longtime chairperson of the Mt. Zion Community
Park and a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, helping her husband
Donald Gunn in the store business at Mt. Zion for many years.
Besides being active in community affairs, Vonda was known for her involvement in
the Democrat party, enjoying political life.
Funeral services will be held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, Sunday, December 1, 2002 at 1 p.m. Reverend Rick
Swearingen will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday
evening from 5 to 8 p.m.
