Cecil P. Banks, 80, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, October 2, 2015, at his home.
He was born October 3, 1934 at Wise, Va., a son of the late Cecil and Esta Kennedy Banks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. "Dotty" Banks, August 18, 2007; three sons, Roderick, Gene and Greg Banks; two brothers, David and Gene Banks.
Cecil was a retired sales representative for Armour & Co., Louisville, Ky. and the WV Dept. of Transportation, Division of Highways. He was currently a part time employee of Jack Garrett Ford, Spencer. He was a member of the City Council, Spencer and the Bethel United Methodist Church, Spencer. Also, he was a Marine Corps. veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Brooke Reed of Vienna WV and Tamara Byrd of Huntington WV; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Peggy Moss of Rotonda West FL; three grandsons, Kyle and his wife Erin Reed, Eric Reed, Jamie and his wife Julie Banks; granddaughter, Tonja and her husband Marty Prine; three great grandchildren, Jackson Reed, Lucas Prine and Isaac Prine; sister, Lorita Adkins of Piney Flats TN.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 7 at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Robert A. "Bob" Keen officiating. Burial, with military honors, accorded by the USMC Honor Guard, will be in the Eventide Cemetery, Spencer. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
