Whited has filed his pre-candiacy papers, with Spencer attorney Anita Ashley also filing pre-candiacy papers.

Whited was elected Family Court Judge for a six year term serving Roane, Calhoun, Gilmer and Doddridge Counties from 2003 until 2008, and then re-elected for an eight year term until present.
