Guy Albert Poling, 80, of Millstone, went home peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 14, 2015.
He was born March 29, 1935 in Millstone, W.Va. to David Cleo Poling and Orpha Mae (Schoolcraft) Poling.
He was a retired oil field worker, working in the oil fields, and on oil rigs, as rig boss, his entire life. He had worked for Pennzoil in Spencer W.Va.; David Shafer Oil Company, in Wooster, Ohio; and retiring from Creston Oil in West Virginia.
He is survived by his children, Guy (Pat) Poling of Fredericksburg, Ohio. Tony (Kathy) Poling and Kim (Shane)
Bagby both of Apple Creek, Ohio.
He has 4 grandchildren, Clay and (Alyssa) Hicks, Ryley Poling, Michael and Kristen Bagby. A brother, Junior Poling of Millstone, W.Va. and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Murl Hall, Orla Marks, Mabel Marks, and Ernestine Gregory.
His great-uncle Albert Poling, whom he was named after, had started Alberts Chapel on Sand Ridge, also known as the round church.
Services will be held Friday, September 18, 2015 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville, W.Va. Visitation will be 10am-12:00 p.m. with the funeral service starting directly after at noon.
Homer Hensley will be officiating.
Guy will be laid to rest in the Poling-Marks family cemetery in Millstone, W.Va. |
