A driver lost control of his truck at 3 p.m. Wednesday on WV 16 near the Chloe Post Office and plunged into the West Fork, likely totaling the vehicle.
The male driver, traveling south on Rt. 16, escaped injury.
The truck left the highway, clipped a tree and did a 180 degree turn before it came to rest in the river.
The Calhoun Sheriff's Department is investigating.
Minnie Hamilton EMS dispatched ambulances to the scene with the Upper West Fork VFD.
A short time latter, a Crummies Creek man received severe trauma in a fall at a residence, and was taken by Minnie Hamilton EMS to meet a chopper to transport him to a medical center.
