LONGTIME EDUCATOR GARY BAILEY HAS PASSED - Calhoun Native Had Farmer Gene

Longtime West Virginia educator and Calhoun native, Gary Hickman Bailey, 70, of Parkersburg, has passed.

Bailey graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1963. He received his B.A. Degree from Glenville State College, his Master's Degree from Ohio University at Athens, Ohio, and his Superintendent Certificate from West Virginia University.

Bailey retired from the Wood County Board of Education and was principal at Greenmont School for 38 years.

He continued to farm the Calhoun farm owned by his parents, the late Oris W. and Vera F. Hickman Bailey.

Oris Bailey was a longtime farmer and member of the Calhoun County Board of Education and his wife Vera was a longtime Calhoun teacher.

Gary Bailey graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1963. He received his B.A. Degree from Glenville State College, his Master's Degree from Ohio University at Athens, Ohio, and his Superintendent Certificate from West Virginia University.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with the Rev. Beth Peters and the Rev. Loren Price officiating.

Burial will follow in Gibson Cemetery at Altizer in Calhoun County. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. See complete obituary Gary Hickman Bailey
