Mozella Matics Romine, 99, of Parkersburg, passed away on Sept. 9, 2015, at Camden Clark Medical Center.
She was born Jan. 13, 1916, in Reedy, W.Va., a daughter of the late Schofield and Anna Cheuvront Matics.
She attended elementary school in Roane County, was a graduate of Roosevelt Wilson High School in Harrison County and received a Standard Normal Certificate (two years) from Glenville State College, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Morris-Harvey College. She taught elementary schools for 33 years, Roane County seven years, Kanawha County five years and Wood County 20 years, at Maplewood, Neale, Lubeck and Gihon Schools. She has been a member of the Broadway Church of the Nazarene, since Jan. 1998.
She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca (Albert) Scott of Vienna, Lois Miller of Ravenswood, W.Va. and Frances (Richard) Egnor, of Parkersburg; two sons, Roger Jeffrey Romine of Parkersburg and William Michael (Margie) Romine of Grove City, Ohio; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Ted" Romine; three sisters, Dorothy Belle Booth, Ruby Pearl Williams and Violet Emogene Brown; four brothers, Dick, Earl, Alfred and Holly Matics; and one grandson, Jason Campbell.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the Broadway Church of the Nazarene, 901 Broadway Ave., south Parkersburg, with the Pastors Dan Meek and Harold Eaton officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg. |
