Calhoun's defense finally gave up a point Friday night but by the time Sherman scored the Red Devils had raced to a 36-6 victory over the Tide at John Zontini Field in Seth.

But by then Casey Ritchie had three touchdowns and Ethyn Miller two.
Miller, an all-state candidate at wide receiver caught two passes but made then count for 97 yards with touchdowns from 73 and 24 yards out.
Ritchie had scoring runs of two and three yards and also had a 32-yard touchdown return with an intercepted pass.
After a scoreless first quarter the Red Devils got on the board when Casey Ritchie hit Miller from 24 yards out with Jazz Holcomb adding the extra point.
The Red Devils got on the board right before halftime with the return of an errant Sherman pass for a score.
Calhoun turned things around abruptly in the third quarter when Miller broke loose and made a spectacular catch en route to his 73-yard score.
That scored revived what had been a sputtering Calhoun offense and took the wind out of the Tide offense which appeared to be grabbing the game momentum.
Following that Calhoun's offense pounded the Tide for two more scores before the defense finally gave up its first points of the year.
Calhoun had 332 yards total offense and 17 first towns while limiting Sherman, 0-2, to 210 yards total offense. Cole Ritchie led the way with 167 yards on 22 carries.
