And the Angels Sang ... Garnett Drennen, 91, of Spencer, West Virginia died August 15, 2015 at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, West Virginia.
She was born September 11, 1923 in Amma, West Virginia a daughter of the late Charles and Delphia Smith Strickland.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Drennen, Sr.; two daughters, Bonnie and Mary; three sisters, Virginia, Bess, and Norma; and two brothers, Bobby and Clarence.
She is survived by two brothers, Jr. Strickland and his wife, Dot of Branson, Missouri and Hershel Strickland of Charleston.
Garnett was blessed by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, loved and blessed by all from John Hall (the oldest grandson) to Jacob Hinds (the youngest great-grandson).
She is also survived by two sons, Paul and Anna Drennen of Spencer and Eddie and Dianna Drennen of Gay, West Virginia; and six daughters, Carol and Barry Showalter of Clermont, Florida, Paula and Bob Florian of Freemont, Ohio, Barb and Steve Martin of Trenton, Ohio, Linda and Ed Dennis of Reedy, West Virginia, Janet and Nathan Hall of Apopka, Florida and Lisa and Jeff Walker of West Palm Bach, Florida.
Service will be at noon on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Bryan Funk officiating. Visiting hours will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Per her request, the body will be cremated.
