| Helen Marie Jones, age 86 of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life in the early morning hours of Friday, August 7, 2015 at the home of her niece Gaylene (Dale) Hacker of Cedarville, West Virginia, following an extended illness.
Born February 25, 1929 in Gilmer County, Helen was the daughter of the late Lafie and Nellie Messenger Collins.
Helen retired from the Gilmer County Sheriff Departments in 1994 where she was an office deputy, before that she worked as a receptionist in doctor and dentist offices. Her life revolved around helping others and being with her family and friends. In her younger years she enjoyed camping and traveling with her husband, Don.
On July 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Donald C. Jones, who preceded her in death on May 24, 2005.
Along with her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by 1 son, Donald L. Jones who departed this life on July 31, 2011 and 1 brother, Ray Collins.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc., 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 1:00 p.m. Sunday August 9, 2015 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiney Cemetery on Ellis Road. Friends may call from 11:00-1:00 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
