Barbara Burns Stump, 82, of Dublin, Va., passed away on July 28, 2015.
Barbara was born on December 23, 1932, to the late Clairel "Tarzan" and Ruth Smith Burns.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, W. Darrell Stump.
She is survived by her sons, William D. Stump II and his wife, Tracey, of Newbern, Va., and Mark Eric Stump of Radford; her daughters, Mayra Beth and Marcia Ruth Stump, both of Radford, Va., and Joan Rowan and her husband, Nick, of Greensboro, N.C.; her brother, Stanley Burns and his wife, Jean, of Lake Lynn, Pa.; her niece, LeeAnne Burns-Morley; her grandsons, Michael Nathan Stump of Radford, William D. "Pete" Stump III, James T. Stump, J. Stuart Stump, and Thomas Stump of Newbern, Va.; and her great-grandsons, Elijah and Mark Stump of Radford.
Barbara graduated with her master's degree in special education from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. From there, she proceeded to make an indelible impact on children with special needs in the Montgomery County Public School System for over 30 years as a special education instructor.
A truly selfless woman, she always had a smile on her face - helping anyone who needed it - sharing her heartfelt love with all those she came in contact with.
A Graveside Service was held at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, Va.
