Many people in Calhoun County and the area are community minded, generous and dedicated. The Hur Herald staff would
like to
recognize those individuals and groups for all they do. We ask our readers to submit names of individuals or groups, along
with a brief description of why they are Shining Stars.

I would like to submit the name of the late Doyle Ballengee for the Shining Star Award. Doyle
served, and helped build, churches in the areas where he lived all of his adult life. He did everything from home visitation,
driving church buses, teaching Sunday school, to serving as a missionary to the local prison.
As a statement to his service, nine ministers of churches he had served attended his funeral at Victory Baptist Church in
October of this year. Wherever good things were happening, Doyle was there! He was absolutely the best brother-in-law a
person could have! We miss him very much...Dr. Russell Everson

dedication they have given to so many children for over 17 years in the Foster Care

community...Calhoun Library
