JUDGE NIBERT APPOINTS LORA DAVIS INTERIM MAGISTRATE

With the retirement of Teresa Carpenter, a longtime Calhoun magistrate, Chief Judge David W. Nibert has appointed Lora Davis of Grantsville to fill the vacancy until the next election cycle.

Davis will start training in Charleston on Tuesday and will be sworn in after the completion of the training period.

Davis graduated from Calhoun High School in 2001 and Glenville State College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science with a concentration in criminal justice and a minor in Psychology.

After graduating, she was employed by R. Joseph Zak, Esq. in Charleston, and then employed in the Calhoun Prosecuting Attorney's office for Matthew J. Minney.

She has since been employed by Unity, LLC and Family Advantage LLC completing in-home services for open CPS and youth service cases.

Davis said, "I have a diverse 10 years of experience that I feel can be directly applied as the magistrate's office in Calhoun County."

"I have lived in Calhoun my entire life and look forward to serving the citizens of Calhoun County."

She is the daughter of the late Claude "Butch" Davis III and the late Robin Kerby Davis Springston.
