| Romie J. Chapman, 84, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, July 24, 2015 at Roane General Hospital.
He was born April 8, 1931 at Frame WV, a son of the late Romie and Dorothy Shafer Chapman.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was formerly employed by the Roane County Commission, Monarch Rubber Company, and Kellwood.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Romie J. Chapman, III; and brothers, Henry, Eugene, and Kenneth Chapman.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie S. Chapman of Spencer; sons, Randall A. Chapman of Walton, Joey D. Chapman of Kenna, Denver R. Chapman of Spencer, and Roger D. Chapman of St. Albans. Survivors also include a half-brother, Donald J. Chapman of Clendenin, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11a.m., Tuesday, July 28, at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Jack Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Clover Cemetery. Friends will be received Monday from 6-8p.m. at the funeral home.
