YELLOW CREEK WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED CARETAKING DOG

A 70-year-old Yellow Creek woman sustained serious injuries Friday afternoon when she fell from her porch, while caretaking a dog.

Minnie Hamilton EMS responded to the scene, the woman reportedly suffered a fractured leg and a fractured arm in the fall.

The woman was taken to a medical center by chopper from the Big Bend area, with the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department responding.

The Spencer-Roane VFD and other departments, with Roane EMS, responded to a five-car collision at 4:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Middle Fork Road and US 33 at Peniel.

It was unknown how many people were injured, but the highway was closed for a while.
