Six cars traveling south on West Virginia 16 near the Mount Zion Drive-in collided at 7:51
a.m. Thursday. Deputy Sheriff Carl Ballengee said no injuries had been reported, but damage was rather heavy to some of the vehicles.
Ballengee said "This number of cars involved in an accident is unusual for around here."
Reports said the first vehicle was making a left-hand turn, after which the other
vehicles collided into the other. Deputy Ballengee said a couple of the vehicles managed to come to a stop, but were struck from behind and moved forward. Some of the drivers were reportedly Calhoun High
School students, school personnel, among other travelers.
Calhoun EMS responded to check for injuries, in addition to the Arnoldsburg VFD and
Deputy Carl Ballengee, who is investigating. He did not state if citations had been issued.
