"All the bills are paid" said Donna Jordan, a member of the Minnora Community
Center, after a fundraiser was held last weekend. A spaghetti dinner cleared $2000 to
help the project along. "We had lots of new help and everyone pitched in," she
said.
"We're going to have monthly events," she said, encouraging community residents to
come out and participate.
Jordan said the newly reorganized center is looking for some new board members. A
public meeting will be held Monday, November 18 at 7 p.m. "We also need lots of
volunteers," she said.
Monthly events are being planned, including an "honest to gosh" square dance on
Friday, November 29, starting at 6:30 p.m. Well-known fiddler Lester McCumbers will
be playing and Russ Taylor from Clay County will be the caller.
A special Christmas program is being planned for Friday, December 20. "We hope to
have several different groups at this special event," Jordan said.
"So far, we've had some really hard workers help the center. We're very grateful," she
concluded.
