Helen Collins, age 76, of Rocky Fork Road, Orlando, West Virginia, departed this life at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, West Virginia, following an extended illness.
Born August 8, 1938 in Braxton County, Helen was the daughter of the late George Edward and Bessie Mae Fox Riffle.
Helen was a homemaker and excellent cook. She enjoyed puzzles, word search, and working in the family garden. Helen Loved spending time with her family and especially loved it when everyone was together.
On June 25, 1960, she was united in marriage to Richard Lee Collins who survives at the Rocky Fork home. Helen and Richard shared 54 wonderful years together.
Surviving are 5 sons and 1 daughter, Timothy Mark Collins of Orlando, Danial "Boone" Collins and wife Pauline of Lumberport WV, Bessie Mae Collins and companion Clarence Rucker of Buckhannon WV, Bradley Dale Collins and wife Kristie of Linn WV, Darrell Collins of Orlando, and Brian Keith Collins and wife Marie of Linn.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Kellee Hope Elliott, Danial Ty Collins, Tammy Rucker, Stephanie Rucker, Joshua Rucker, Markeem Collins, Makahla Collins, Olivia Collins, Jessica Minney, Brian Lee Collins, Caleb Morgan Collins, Christeallia Marie Amorosi, and Rebekah Linn Amorosi; 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Helen was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by 4 sisters, Carrie Persinger, Winnie Riffle, Ruth Blake, and June Elaine Riffle, and 5 brothers, Edward, Hubert, Stanton, Paul James, and Jacob Arthur Riffle.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV; 26351 at 2:00 p.m. Sunday June 14, 2015 with Pastor Robert Shingleton officiating. Burial will follow in the John Shiflet Cemetery on Turkey Fork Road. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Saturday evening, June 13 at the Mortuary.
