Ralph E. Wells, 92, of Big Springs, Calhoun County, West Virginia, died November 10,
2002, at his residence.
He was born August 10, 1910, in Yawke, WV, the son of the late Charles M.
and Lydia Jane Williamson Wells. Ralph had been a barber in Smithville and
Grantsville, and he had also worked in the oil fields for 35 years. He was a
member of the Beech Valley United Methodist Church, Big Springs.
He is survived by one daughter, Patricia Frederick of Big Springs; four
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years,
Winifred Myers Wells; and two sisters, Elsie Wells and Bessie Ketchum.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville,
with the Rev. Carroll McCauley and the Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial
will follow in Ellenboro Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m.
today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
