HUPP ELECTED GRANTSVILLE MAYOR UNOPPOSED - Five Council Seats Filled

Zachary Hupp was elected Grantsville mayor, unopposed, during a town election Tuesday with 38 votes.

The turn-out for the town election of about 550 citizens, was likely a record low.

Unopposed for recorder was Elizabeth Stirling who received 11 votes.

There were eight candidates for five council seats.

Elected Council:

Linda Prine Jarvis - 40 votes

Jesse E. Davis - 40 votes

Dorothy McCauley - 31 votes

Geneva Nicholson - 30 votes

Judy Powell - 29 votes

Others Running:

Franklin D. Yeager, Jr. - 20 votes

Stacy Hickman - 13 votes

Brenda Yeager - 11 votes

Mayor Hupp said he is a believer in "wonderful Grantsville," a life-long resident of Calhoun, residing in the town with his wife Kelli, a registered nurse.

Hupp graduated from Calhoun County High School in 2000 and Glenville State College in 2010 with a surveying degree.

He is now a surveying intern with Hupp Surveying & Mapping.

"Grantsville has long been my home and I look forward to serving our residents proudly," he said.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Hupp, Jr. and the grandson of Geraldine and the late Doyle Hupp.
