Carla "Kaye" Cheves Francis, 61 of Lower Run Rd, Normantown WV, departed to the next realm on May 4th, 2015 at her home in her beloved holler with her husband and mother at her side.
Kaye was born July 27, 1953 in Sylvester, GA to loving parents James Carlos Branch and Wilma Dowdy Branch.
She was preceded in death by father James Carlos Branch; grandparents Cyrus and Gertrude Branch and Jack and Lettie Dowdy.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory Steven J. Francis [loving companion and husband], Wilma Dowdy Branch [mother], James Mitchell Branch [brother], Kelly Bombriont [daughter], Derek J. Cheves [son], and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and all her wonderful friends and neighbors whom she loved with her heart.
She attended W.J. Creel Elementary School, Central Jr. HS, Eau Gallie HS [now Commodore HS] all located in Melbourne Florida.
Kaye worked in the banking industry from the age of 16 until she retired. She later worked for her beloved brother Mitch Branch Permitting and Land Development for eight years in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a member of Harbour City Christian Church. Kaye's many interests included any watersports, hiking, gardening, canning, traveling and any new adventure where she could have fun and laugh.
Kaye was passionate about her family of pets and her dream was to establish a "Humane Animal Shelter" in the county [Gilmer] which she resided where none was available. Her request was for your donation be sent to your nearest animal shelter.
Her positivity was infectious and her zest for life inspirational.
Her wishes were that there be no formal funeral services but that her family and friends celebrate with laughter, fun and dance and a glass of wine. She will live in our hearts and souls forever and ever.
