Robert Glynn Peterson, 81, of Reedy, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at the Miletree Center, Spencer.
He was born February 2, 1934, at Cuthbert, Ga., a son of the late Daniel Loye and Katie Francis Nichols Peterson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Mr. Peterson was a beloved husband, father and "papa". He was a Christian and a member of the Faith Baptist Church, Spencer. He was a former member of the Heart Haven Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla. Also, he was an Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Grace Carter Peterson; one daughter and son-in-law, Freida and Robert Causey; one son and daughter-in-law, Benjie and Beverly Mills; six grandchildren and their spouses, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; three sisters; and his West Virginia family.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at the Faith Baptist Church, Spencer, with Pastor Justin S. Simmons officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by members of the West Virginia Honor Guard at the conclusion of the memorial service.
Family and friends will gather in the fellowship hall of the church for a meal and fellowship afterwards.
