Stephen E. Blosser, 65, of Marietta, OH departed this earth into the arms of our Eternal Father on November 12, 2014.
He was born on July 9, 1949, in Parkersburg, WV, the son of the late Roy E. and Hettie V. (Patty) Nichols Blosser.
Steve served in the U.S. Army from February 1969 to February 1971. He graduated in 1989 from Parkersburg Community College (now WVU-P) with an Associate Degree in Social Services, working in mental health/behavioral fields, retiring from Havar, Inc. Steve was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed canoeing, camping, and hiking.
Steve is survived by his son, Brent (Debbie) Blosser of Parkersburg, WV; daughters, Alayna Blosser of Marietta, OH, and Chris (Dave) Hackathorn of St. Marys, WV; one brother, William (Marcia) Blosser of Cairo, WV; one sister, Linda (Paul) Smith of Washington, WV; grandchildren, Jacob, Allie, and Luke of Parkersburg, WV, and David Hackathorn of St. Marys, WV, along with aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carl and Goldie Blosser; and his maternal grandparents, Thomas and Malissa Nichols; several aunts and uncles; and a special cousin and close friend, Jim Keffer.
A Celebration of Life and Committal Service with Military Rites will be held at the Otto Church and Cemetery near Spencer, WV in Roane County on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at 1:00 pm. Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg.
