MISSING GRANTSVILLE WOMAN ROSE WILT, 75, FOUND IN WOODED AREA WITH BROKEN ANKLE - Grantsville Firemen Locate Woman In Simons Run Area

UPDATE - A Grantsville woman missing from her High Street residence since 11 p.m. Monday was found by the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Rose Wilt, 75, was found on or near an old house in the wooded Simons Run area off Rt. 16. Sources at the scene indicated she likely had a broken ankle with back pain, firemen dispatched a UTV rescue vehicle to the area to bring the woman to a MHHS ambulance, and then was taken to a Parkersburg hospital.

ORIGINAL STORY -A Grantsville woman is missing from her home on High Street since 11 p.m. Monday night (5/11/2015) she was seen walking on State Rt. 16 toward Pleasant Hill, where an initial search was started.

Wilt has been suffering from medical problems, reportedly a stroke, and could not walk well.

She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt and black tennis shoes.

She has been identified as Rose Wilt, age 75.

Calhoun OES Director Kathy Wood said her family and friends are concerned for her well-being, and the Grantsville VFD was alerted Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. to commence a search.

Firemen were scouring the nearby wooded areas off Rt.
16 adjacent to her High Street residence Tuesday.

Wilt and her husband Jim have long been associated with activities at the Calhoun County Committee on Aging.
