WCHS-TV REPORT
In the early 1990's the Calhoun County Historical Society proposed creating a heritage village from structures typically found in the area from the 1800's and early 1900's. Jim Bell a member of the society and a long time gas company employee had located several aging structures from around the area and began the process of securing and transporting the buildings to Calhoun County Park.
Today Heritage Village boasts several restored structures from a time gone by providing visitors a window to a not so distant past. A one room school, grocery store, post office, chapel, blacksmith shop, pioneer cabin, and even an outhouse make up the village.
All the buildings and items inside have been donated by locals wanting to help.
