Minnie Hamilton Health System, in collaboration with the Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department, Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department, the Upper West Fork Fire Department, Calhoun E-911, Calhoun County Sheriff Department, West Virginia State Police and Calhoun Office of Emergency Services, received a grant from the West Virginia Health Care Authority, Rural Health Systems Program, and received the funds to purchase two Polaris Ranger UTVs and three RKO Enterprises Rescue Systems.
Arnoldsburg Volunteer Fire Department and the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department each received one Polaris Ranger UTV with the RKO Rescue System.
The Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department received a Rescue System for the UTV that they currently have.
The equipment will be a valuable asset to all of the communities by providing safe, reliable, skilled and efficient emergency services to the vast remote areas where the majority of the population works and resides.
The program will help to unite the multiple agencies that respond to emergencies and complete the current gap in being able to provide emergency services to those in remote locations.
