| The Hidden Promise Consortium of Glenville State College presents the Battle of the Bands, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. today at Glenville State's Waco Center.

Competing bands include, Groovus Phaticus from Raleigh County, Crossfire from Roane County, Stoker Seven from Calhoun County, Michael Bonnett and Rivers Edge from Randolph County.
The Hidden Promise Scholars program is an alliance among Glenville State College and county school districts across West Virginia with the goal of improving communication between higher education and K through 12.
The consortium aims to improve the number and quality of high school graduates including raising ACT scores, increase the number of students going to college, and increasing the number and quality of college graduates. The alliance was formed in 2007 between Glenville State College and thirteen county school systems, but has grown to include twenty school districts. |
