A memorial celebration was held Sunday at Spencer's Heritage Park for Sarah Hotchkiss, 79, a long time resident of the backwoods of the Beech Community.
About 60 friends and family joined in the celebration, sharing remembrances of her skills as an artist. teacher, poet and gardener, including a candle lighting ceremony.
J. B. Brewster of the Spencer Meditation Group led the attendees in a chant, and Mary Quick, Brenda Wilson, Norma Randall-Myers, Kathy Randall where led in a dance by friend Jude Binder of Heartwood in the Hills.
