BIG BEND MAN JAILED FOR MARIJUANA CULTIVATION

(04/25/2015)
State Police arrested a Big Bend man, Danny H. Burrows, 51, late Wednesday night and charged him with cultivation of marijuana at his residence.

He is in Central Regional Jail.

State Police responded to a complaint at the Cabot Station residence of Christopher Ferrell, where Gary D. Ferrell and Gary Michael Ferrell told police that Burrows and Cicely Ullum had come to the residence with Burrows brandishing a knife, according to the complaint.

The complaint says that Gary D. Ferrell and Gary Michael Ferrell had prior knowledge that Burrows was cultivating marijuana inside his Big Bend residence.

They also advised the officers that Burrows had in his possession guns, indicating he was a convicted felon.

Burrows, when approached at his Big Bend residence, advised officers he did not brandish a knife, and denied consent to the officers to search the house, according to Sr. Trooper D. C. Moore.

The complaint says Burrows was uncooperative, stating he didn't want the officers to tear up his house.

However Burrows then advised the police that Gary D. Ferrell, one of the complainants, could give them access, after which the officers had Ferrell come to the scene to provide access, and showed the officers where the marijuana was growing in an upstairs closet.

Sr. Trooper Moore said officers found 12 plants growing in cups.
