Come experience old fashioned turn of the century oil field, industrial, and farm machinery at The 11th Annual Engines and Wheels Festival Saturday, May 2 at North Bend State Park.
Learn how these engines, wheels, and antique machinery became the workhorses of a generation, fulfilling the demands of a growing nation.
Old time engines, tractors, and antique cars will start rolling in at 8:00 a.m. and be on exhibit until 6:00 p.m. Come discover the history behind these fascinating machines and the men who worked them. Local engine and wheel enthusiasts will be on hand displaying their knowledge of equipment and the mechanisms that make them work.
Fred Steed chairman of the 2015 event reports "there is still plenty of room, so if you have an engine, tractor, or car dust it off and bring it out for the day." Steed also stated they have more room for crafters. Crafters are asked to preregister with North Bend State Park at 304-643-2931.
Other events for the day includes a live radio remote from 93R (WRRR-FM), free blood pressure check from the Ritchie County EMS, and face painting. An outdoor grill concession stand will be hosted by the Cairo Climbers 4-H Club. The Ritchie County Car Club will also be in attendance from noon-3:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. For more information contact Fred Steed at 304-483-1650/304-628-3396 or Dave Wilson 304-628-3587.
