PARAMEDIC STABBED - A Randolph County paramedic is recovering after being stabbed on an early morning call.
Two paramedics from the Randolph County Ambulance Authority responded to a 4:30 a.m. call in Beverly, but when they arrived, the victim was not suffering a seizure and attacked them.
"When he turned violent they retreated to their vehicle and he was chasing them," said Kurt Gainer, Director of the Ambulance Authority.
"They jumped in the truck and he jerked the door open before they could lock it."
The man, identified as Terrance Joel Daniels, 24, of Beverly was armed with a pair of scissors and Captain Thomas Kotarsky suffered a stabbed wound to the stomach.
Gainer said. "He was treated at the hospital and seen by a doctor before being discharged."
The paramedics summonsed law enforcement who arrived and arrested Daniels on a charge of malicious wounding. He's lodged in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail with bond set at $50,000.
MAN PULLS KNIFE - State Police said a Cedar Grove man faces charges after he allegedly pulled a knife on some juveniles after he had a verbal altercation with them.
Michael Edward Persinger, 39, is charged with obstructing, brandishing a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, according to a criminal complaint.
A trooper interviewed a parent and a juvenile. The juvenile told State Police that he and his friends were walking down the road when they saw Persinger walking in their direction, and they could tell he was intoxicated by his stumbling and swaying body language.
As he approached, he laughed at the juveniles and they had a verbal altercation, the complaint said.
State Police said the juvenile told the trooper Persinger pulled out a knife with a brown handle and a hooked blade and said, "This is what your gonna get."
The trooper said he found Persinger and patted him down and found two knives in his pockets, including one knife that matched the description, according to the complaint.

State Police said Persinger cursed the trooper and said he had been arrested before.
Persinger is currently being held in the South Central Regional Jail on $5,000 bond.
MAN STABBED - A Charleston man was taken to the hospital after he was stabbed by a man at his home.
The homeowner said he heard a noise outside by his shed, when he went to check on the noise he saw a man in his yard.
A confrontation ensued between the two and the homeowner was cut several times on the arm, leg and back.
The homeowner was transported to the hospital after the attack. He did not appear to have life-threatening injuries.
The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department used a K9 to track the alleged attacker but lost the scent.

PHILLIPI ATTEMPTED ROBBERY - A Phillipi man is charged with three counts of unlawful assault after police, responding to an attempted armed robbery call and found him hiding in a dryer.
Jason Mongold, 37, is accused of pulling a knife on two people as they were entering their home in Philippi.
After receiving a description of the man from the victims, the Philippi Police Department and the Belington Police Department began looking for two men.
After searching an apartment and finding nothing, police were about to leave when one noticed the door to the dryer was cracked open, which is where they found Mongold.
The victim and two other witnesses positively identified Mongold as the man who pulled the knife.
Mongold is currently being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail in lieu of $6,000 bail.
