ERIC JONES GIVEN PRISON SENTENCE FOR BURGLARY-LARCENY - Calhoun Circuit Court Deals With Cases

On March 16 Judge David Nibert held Circuit Court in Calhoun County.

Eric Ray Jones appeared for further sentencing after he was returned as unfit to complete the Anthony Center Program for youthful offenders.

Prosecutor Shannon Johnson said Jones was sentenced to one to ten years in the state penitentiary for daytime burglary in one one case and one to ten years in the state penitentiary for daytime burglary in another case, these sentences are to be served consecutively and he was to be given credit for his time served at the Anthony Center.

Jones also was sentenced to one year in the regional jail for petit larceny, and was ordered to complete the residential substance abuse treatment program prior to his parole.

Corey Metheney's case was set for trial on his charges of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, or custodian is now set for August 4.

Joshua Slider entered a plea of guilty to operating a clandestine methamphetamine, a felony. The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation and he will return for sentencing on May 19, according to Prosecutor Johnson.

Jeffrey Radabaugh appeared for an arraignment. His case involving charges of delivery of a controlled substance was set for trial on July 21.

Jerry McKown appeared for a violation of his home confinement related to a number of meth related drug charges.

McKown admitted that he had left his long term rehabilitation program and had not returned to the Calhoun Sheriff's Office to be placed back on home confinement.

McKown's sentencing on this violation is set for April 20th.

Luke Baker was arraigned on his charges of negligent homicide and reckless driving causing bodily injury. His case was set for trial on August 4.

There were fifteen juvenile hearings on the March 16 docket.

Circuit Judge Thomas Evans was in Grantsville for Circuit Court on March 23.

Gary Ackley appeared for a status hearing on his DUI, 3rd and fleeing in a vehicle charges. The parties have reached a plea agreement and his case will heart on March 31st for the entry of a plea, according to Prosecutor Johnson.

David Booher appeared for a status hearing regarding his charges for forgery and uttering. His case will come on for entry of a plea agreement on March 31.

Andrea Simmons's sentencing on drug related charges was continued for sentencing until April 27.

Tiffany Davis admitted to a second violation of her probation of drug related charges and was sentenced to thirty days in jail.

Danny Lockhart appeared for a review of a competency evaluation. The court found that he was competent to stand trial as noted by the evaluation. His case was set for trial on June 30, on his charges of sexual assault and manufacturing marijuana.

Dennis McCune appeared before the Court on a motion to dismiss his drug related case. The court granted the defendant's motion, but dismissed the case without prejudice which means the case may be brought before the Grand Jury by the State.

Andrew Tanner will come for trial on June 30th on his charges of grand larceny.

There were eleven juvenile hearings on the docket.

The next court date is March 31 with Judge Thomas Evans presiding over possible trials.
