Mary A (Greathouse) Nicholas, 79 of Brohard, West Virginia, passed away March 17, 2015 at the Arbors in Marietta, Ohio.
Mary was born in Roane County West Virginia, daughter of the late Jesse Greathouse and Roxie (Roberts) Greathouse Monroe.
Mary was employed by McCoy's Restaurant of Smithville for several years and retired from Cardinal Market after 16 years of service. She enjoyed her animals, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband of 37 years, Ivan Nicholas; and children Kathy Abundo of San Diego California, Larry Springston of Grantsville West Virginia, Carolyn Young of Parkersburg West Virginia, Donnie Springston of St. Mary's West Virginia, Debra Ladd of Gallatin Tennessee; two step-children Michael Nicholas of Barboursville West Virginia and Kimberly Nicholas of Ohio; several grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two sisters Rose (Jerry) Greenburg of Newark West Virginia and Patty (Gene) Merrill also of Newark.
Mary was preceded in death by both parents; stepfather Alfred Monroe; four siblings, Ruth Kindle, Alice Davis, Dora Gick and Harold Monroe.
Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service at Matheny Whited Funeral Home with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Hodan Cemetery in Roane County West Virginia.
