After a courageous battle with cancer, Earl Lee Bateman, 52 of Spencer, West Virginia passed away at CAMC Memorial Hospital on March 14, 2015. He can now celebrate his cancer free life in Heaven.
Earl was the beloved husband of Connie Bateman for over 33 years. Earl will forever be remembered by his loving mother, LulaBell Freeman; his beloved children, Richard Bateman and wife, Shirlonda, Rachel Bartlett and husband, Erik, and Amanda Barbee and husband, Chris; his devoted brother, Dempsey Bateman; his loving sisters, Patty Carper, Phyllis Kiser, Lisa Nichols, Roberta Bateman, and Brenda Bateman; his beloved grandsons, Cody Bartlett, Payton Harper, and Alex Barbee; a step-sister, Alice Norris; step-brothers, Jimmy and Paul Allan Freeman; along with countless other friends and family members whom were blessed to know him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Bateman; step father, Paul Freeman; brothers, Jerry and James Bateman; and a step-brother, Paul Freeman, Jr.
Earl was a hard working, dedicated employee of Key Energy for many years. He also loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Earl touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, with Rev. Jackie Roberts officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Spencer. Visiting hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
