Technical Sergeant Jason Paul Swiger, age 31 of Coca Beach, Florida, formerly of Gilmer County, West Virginia, departed this life on Sunday evening March 1, 2015, following a sudden illness.
Born January 29, 1984 in Weston, West Virginia, son of Tim and Kathie Allman Swiger of Sand Fork Road.
Jason was an active serviceman with a rank of Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force, stationed in Cape Canaveral, Florida. He was a graduate of Gilmer County High School, class of 2003, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, football, fishing, and serving his nation proudly.
Along with his parents Jason is survived by 1 brother, Timothy Swiger and wife Jacqlyn of Alum Bridge WV; 2 sisters, Stacey Nicole Summers and husband Gary of Buckhannon WV, and Amber Marie Swiger, 1 half sister, Amanda Rohrbough of Walkersville WV, and his step grandfather, Ronald Bonnett of Baldwin WV.
Jason is also survived by 7 nieces and nephews, Colton Swiger of Alum Bridge, Aaron Stull, Kayla, Megan, and Aleisha Summers of Buckhannon, Anthony Swiger, and Austin Harper of Walkersville, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Preceding Jason in death was his paternal grandparents, Paul and Ester Swiger; maternal grandmother, Thelma Bonnett; and 1 uncle, John Pritt.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. 2 Vanhorn Drive, Glenville, WV at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8, 2015 with Pastor Bryan Groves officiating. Burial with Full Air Force Military Honors will follow in the McHenry II Cemetery, on Sand Fork Road. Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. Saturday evening at the Mortuary.
