Orland Eugene "Gene" Norman, 66, of Spencer, West Virginia died February 28, 2015 at the Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
Gene was born January 15, 1949 in Roane County a son of the late Donzel G. Norman and Betty Nichols Norman Alvis. He worked in the oil fields, did mechanical work and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hubbard Norman; one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Wilson of Spencer; a step-daughter, Amber Collier of Logan, West Virginia; three sons, Jeffrey Glenn Norman of Spencer, and Jerry Allen and Larry Norman, both of Ohio; six sisters, Garnett, Ella, Patsy, Marsha, Norma Lynn and Ruth Ann; and four brothers, Donnie, Wayne, Eddie and Glenn Norman; 16 grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jenny Wilson; and a half-brother, Garland Alvis, Jr.
Per his request, the body was cremated. There will be no service or visitation. TAYLOR-VANDALE FUNERAL HOME, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.
